I was skeptical of the concept of using old school Eurosleaze techniques in a modern movie, but I'll be damned if they didn't do it right. You have to get a lot of the details right to pull this off convincingly. I was all in with this movie before the opening credits were over.
I love Samantha Robinson (who looks like the reincarnation of Edwige Fenech!) as the titular Love Witch. I guess she was in Tarantino's latest, so hopefully we'll see more of her in the future.
Anna Biller wrote and directed, and she obviously had a distinct vision. I respect the hell out of directors that write their own scripts. It seems her other movies are similar genre movies, so I will definitely be looking out for those.
