Some would argue it's Kevin Smith's best film. But Kevin is such a cool dude, it's hard to say which one of his early works are truly the best since all of them have all have little unique things to love. This is a feel-good movie. Pure nostalgia for Generation X. There isn't a single character in it that I didn't like. These are all people I'd love to hang out with. Affleck is seen here, clearly before his prime, but you can tell he was always a striver. Jason Lee, who is usually highly irritating, made me laugh a few times. But it's the character of Alyssa Jones that stole our hearts. What a rad girl. She's flawed like all of us, and just wants to be happy. Joey Lauren Adams is perfect. Everything down to her adorable voice is enough to make audiences swoon. Having her star in a Kevin Smith film from the early 90's is a fricken home run. This a truly sweet, truly hilarious rom-com, with a potty mouth.
