I watched it with my cousins, and when the explosion scene came on, everyone went silent. The whole theatre was quiet. No chewing, no fumbling for snacks, not even breathing. Just absolute silence.
It was probably one of the most beautiful and powerful scenes in any movie I have ever seen. The beauty of the fire and the flames was on display. No need for music to amp it up. It simply was there. And it, alone, was enough to completely overwhelm me.
As soon as it was over, I shared the horror of it with Oppenheimer. I didn't quite understand the whole movie since I don't understand advances physics, politics, or law, but I felt the power of the movie, and if you can understand the feelings the directors and actors are trying to portray without even understanding all of it, then you know it's a good movie...
