At the end of the second act break, Max is poised to head off on his own as Furiosa and the women get on bikes to head across the salt. This moment of tension is held for about 15 seconds before Max changes his mind and joins up with them to form a different plan. This is how I felt about the whole movie. No tension, no struggle, no surprise, no reveal. Just non-stop blandness. With Basil having loved this movie, I'm definitely on my own, and it kind of sucks.
