My favourite Christmas movie and my 2nd favourite movie of all time.
I treat myself once a year every December to watch It's A Wonderful Life. It's the perfect movie to watch near the end of a year and somehow manages to resonate with me more and more as I get older. It's a study into the life of George Bailey (played wonderfully by Jimmy Stewart) - a regular person just like any of us who is thinking about taking his own life due to the hardships of his life. Shown by an Angel what life would be like if he was never born, he realizes he truly has had a wonderful life.
It's a story which reminds me what a great life I live, for all its flaws and problems, and what I take for granted.
Funny, charming, moving, heartfelt, haunting, well acted. It's A Wonderful Life is a timeless classic which I will never grow tired of.
