I've been sitting on logging and reviewing La La Land for a few days, mostly because I didn't quite know how to go about articulating everything I felt about it. I'm still kinda struggling to find the words, so in a nutshell - I loved it. I loved it I loved it I loved it. It's a love letter to so many things I love - to old Hollywood, to dreamers, to music, to musicals, to dance, to love, to Los Angeles - and I loved it.
(...altho in all honesty, it would have been a 5-star film were it not for the opening number, which - for whatever reason - I kinda totally hated.)
