Sorry to anyone that was let down by this film but I had such a blast! I barely felt the insane two and a half hour time duration, which is always a sign of a good time.
Joseph Quinn (Geta) was fun, Paul Mescal (Lucius) was so bloody gorgeous, and Denzel Washington (Macrinus) was incredible. The whole cast was so great.
While it was very reminiscent of the first film, it stood up well on its own two feet and brought in some exciting elements to the colosseum. The naval fight was so entertaining, all of the fight scenes for that matter were so well choreographed and curated. I was so tense for all of them.
I absolutely loved Ravi (Alexander Karim) I did think him and Lucius were going to kiss at one point, as Lucius was giving him cheeky bedroom eyes.
Who cares about historical inaccuracies when you can watch a man ride a rhino?
