I watched this movie on november 23th 2023.
When i first watched this movie i remember being in such a movie slump nothing could get me out of it and i finally decided i was going to give this a chance. I personally don’t like musicals so that’s why i didn’t watch it any sooner. Who knew that this would soon become one of my top 4 movies, on #letterboxd . This entire cinematic masterpiece brought me where i am today because i decided to start using letterboxd again more often and make a tiktok account.
despite the amount of love they had for each other they were never ment to be together. The ending will forever stick with me. its such a bittersweet moment, you know they’re achieving their dreams separately now and depending on ones perspective it can be seen as both tragic or a happy ending. It’s like a delicate balance between the romantic idealism of love and the harsh reality of life’s unpredictability.
them accomplishing their dreams without each other provokes a sense of longing and at the same time acceptance.
