I have to see Mirai again to compare, but this movie was really good. I did have overly high expectations coming in with people saying that it raised the bar for superhero movies (no, it raised the bar for animated superhero movies), but it was still an extremely good movie and definitely better than Incredibles 2. I particularly liked how it felt like a comic. Most comic book movies take the story and characters and make as if the comics never existed, but this movie is constantly paying homage to the comics. I've never read the comics and yet I still didn't feel like I was missing out on anything, but rather appreciated how comic-like everything looked and the funny comic panel type of stuff it did, and that a lot of things were clearly serving a dual purpose where besides for serving a purpose in the movie, they also reference something I haven't seen. So many things just reference and that sucks if you don't get the reference, but this never does that. There's always a point to something besides being a reference so you don't feel like it doesn't work since you're missing the source material (I'm looking at you LEGO Batman). In fact, you appreciate the love that clearly went into it and the respect for the source material.
I wouldn't say that this is the come to jesus of comic book movies or whatever, but this is a great comic book movie and a fantastic animated movie. I'd love to see more interesting art styles in animation like this one. I regret not seeing this in the theater. 8.5/10
