I would write a better review but I am recovering from a cold! I do not miss wearing a mask in the theater but the things we do for end-of-year Top 10 lists.
I'll just say that I overall loved this, some parts seemed to just be moving from scene to scene without that much engagement for me, but the second half was so so good. The first performance to blow me away was Danielle Brooks, holy shit what a lovable tornado of a performance. By the end Fantasia really steals it. Colman Domingo is also a true powerhouse.
The dinner table scene was so chaotic and entertaining, the closest thing to the Crazy Stupid Love backyard scene in any movie this year. And the I'm Here sequence, damn. Just damn.
