As someone who didn’t adore the first film (I didn’t dislike it, was just very meh on it), I am incredibly pleased to say that I was all in on this one It’s aggressively smart, setting up basically a whole other film before ripping the carpet out from under the whole audience in a fun way, only to let absolute mayhem reign when your guard is down Beyond being just an incredibly tight film that neatly and concisely reveals its layers to unsuspecting viewers, it’s unbelievably fun. Daniel Craig is so good as Benoit Blanc, and the entire cast works very well together, but it’s Janelle Monáe that blew me away the most. She has a LOT to do in this film, and does not cave under the pressure whatsoever A lot of my issues with the first film aren’t present here, and in some instances, are not just improved upon by toyed with the very problem I had in the first place. Rian Johnson gaslit me basically and i’m smiling ear to ear This is a very funny movie, and should absolutely be seen in a packed house. What a fun film, one of the most entertaining of the year without question This is the “Eat the Rich” film Triangle of Sadness wishes it was Full piece right here!
