Hello everyone!
Big end of the year update…
As some of you might have noticed, I’ve mostly been rewatching favorites and such this month. That’s because I’m preparing myself for my own personal challenge of only watching movies I have never seen in 2023. It’s going to be very difficult but I hope I got all my comfort rewatches out of the way and commit myself to the goal. I’m really trying to get that 100% first time watches stat achievement next year!
I first made this announcement on my Instagram a few weeks back so I’ll go ahead and take this opportunity to shamelessly plug that as well. My handle is @aethergnos there, so feel free to follow me for some sporadic film still/cinematography posts and the occasional top films of the month lists. I want to try new things, so it might change and who knows maybe I will be more active!
Lastly, I just wanna say that I appreciate and love this community so much. Since I discovered Letterboxd, watching movies has become more of an engaging and social experience than the passive activity that it used to be. I am eternally grateful for everyone who likes my shitty reviews and interacts in comments. Some of you have amazing writing skills that make me so excited to watch a film or see things through a different perspective. I love reading reviews that trash my favorite movies and I love seeing the ones where we share the same passion for a film. Even those of you who don’t write full-on analyses make me laugh with your witty quips. I would like to develop my own writing (and maybe not use the same fucking words/style every other review) so I’m going to make an effort to work on that too. Usually I just write whatever comes to mind because typing essays on my phone can be a real pain in the ass. I imagine it will be a gradual work in progress, so thank you for sticking with me!
