Pushpa 2 doesn’t shy away from being dynamic and energetic throughout its entire runtime. This can especially be seen through the exuberant colors, action sequences, and catchy music. The film builds on its predecessor by showcasing how Pushpa (played by Allu Arjun) is able to handle his newfound power to further establish his prominence in the world. It also builds upon conflicts that weren’t resolved in the first film, including family tensions and the rivalry with Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by Fahadh Faasil.
There are interesting storylines and characterizations that the film hopes to convey, but they’re not always explored in the most succinct manner. One reason for this is because of the structure of the film, portraying all the elements of the story as coinciding with one another. While I can see this as being disadvantageous to the flow of the narrative, I also can see how it contributes to the vibe the film hopes to convey.
Like the first film, there are a few unresolved questions, especially seen by how the film concludes. So, I’m excited to see what else Sukumar and the rest of the creative team has planned for the third part of this story.
