You know the part in Return of the King when Gandalf sees the Barad-dûr collapse into a ball of fire followed by the explosion of Mt Doom and he’s just so taken aback with shock and horror that one tear streams down his face? I wonder if that’s how they felt when that button was pushed not knowing the outcome. I certainly felt that way when the whole theater held their breath in silence followed by the overwhelming deafening roar.
No other thoughts right now, only admiration for everyone involved.
Side note: Gotta give my dude Josh Peck some props for going from “hug me brotha!” to having the responsibility of pushing that big red button of detonation.
“It’s more of an emotional approach than an intellectual approach. You have the research, you have the history and the facts of the story, but you want the audience to feel it and you want it to leave them with a set of sensations and feelings.” -Christopher Nolan
