This film knew exactly what it was and did not shy away in any aspect, I respect that a lot. Amazing cinematography, very satisfying sound design, lots of great and slightly old fashioned scares that I really appreciated. Yes I caught the true crime references (Zodiac’s letters and Manson dancing in his interview being some of my favourites) and general homage to the subject and the behaviour of real life serial killers. And Nic Cage having the time of his life yet again, that man puts 100% into every role he plays.
