70mm was an absolute treat
It simultaneously feels like we’re watching cinema take its final pathetic gasps of breath AND witnessing an auteur golden age ushering in new behemoths for the ages. Nolan, Villeneuve, Chazelle, Cameron, Scorsese, I could probably name others too. Yes, some of these have been around for a while and are in no way “fresh” voices, but they are all making juggernauts for the cinema screen that will stand the test of time, and they’re making them right now
Oppenheimer is just a monumental achievement. It’s the singular vision of a master. It’s a revelation and a sight to behold
