10/10 It’s a Wonderful Life has been a tradition on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember. The film is charming and full of heart. It’s also full of darkness at times. The theme of losing one’s confidence and nothing going right in one’s life is disheartening. The choice placed at George Bailey’s feet to die by his own hand or to continue fighting is such a powerful place for this film to explore and for that, the tone shifts. This moves the film along to the glorious end. I cry with happy tears every time. A classic and a masterpiece.
