if we're getting thrown into saw traps for who our parents are.... then i'm fucked
creative scene transitions simply did not exist before this dropped in 2005 .. the stylism is amazing & i think this may have the best traps in the whole franchise . if not for nostalgia reasons i would say it's even better than its predecessor
i have always really loved the way we are introduced to detective matthews and his son daniel, their dynamic is perfectly established very quickly and both of their actors give such effective performances throughout the film. felt very natural and genuine
alsoo .. john kramer is so cunty i can't lie . the way he smiled at det. matthews for not following the rules IS SO FUNNY bc literally all he had to do is sit there and talk and he just wouldn't listen. jigsaw means every. single. word he says and he's so silly for that
there are so many genuinely insane moments in this that still shock me after countless rewatches, like when amanda gets involuntarily thrown into the pit of needles or when xavier cuts way too deep in the back of his own neck just to see his own number. bitches be crazy!!!! the reveal that the tapes aren't live is easily my favorite moment of the film, the twist here is SO DAMN GOOD!!!
