I was interested in seeing this film because of all the hype that it still had and the high praise it still gets today, and I can definitely say that I know understand why.
The film was beautiful, in basically every way possible. The acting was great, the story was great, the soundtrack was amazing, the dancing was fun.
But probably my favorite part of the film was the camera work paired with the visuals. The fluidity of the camera movement in certain seems was incredible and allowed the scenes to progress without interruption from cuts/too many cuts. The visuals throughout the entire movie were fantastic. The vibrant colors, the lighting, the set pieces and locations were all really great.
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling had amazing chemistry together, that was a perfect duo for this film. I did not know John Legend was in this film, but he was actually quite good as well. And the nice little appearance from J.K. Simmons that was a bit reminiscent of Terrence Fletcher was nice as well.
