DEI Policy & Accessibility Statement

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

LearningMate is an equal-opportunity employer. We commit to celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. We do not tolerate discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, sex, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state, or local laws. LearningMate makes hiring decisions based solely on qualifications, merit, and business needs at the time.

Accessibility Statement

LearningMate complies with WCAG 2.1 & WCAG 2.2 Levels A and AA, which explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.

Our Process

During the requirements stage, we conduct a thorough analysis to better understand the features and functionalities that need to be implemented as they relate to accessibility standards like Section 508/ADA/WCAG.

Once design begins, accessibility and usability are top of mind. We carefully define the layout structure enabling users with disabilities to seamlessly navigate through on-screen elements using a keyboard, mouse, refreshable Braille, or any other assistive technology.

Each link, interactive, media, and learning asset is paired with a text equivalent such as proper descriptions, alt text or ARIA attributes, proper semantics and markups, frame and page titles, and suggestive feedback or instructions to ensure content is accessible while reading via a screen reader. Readability and color contrast are also checked and maintained throughout.

Post development, we use assistive technologies like JAWS, VoiceOver, Talkback, and NDVA to thoroughly test across specified devices, browsers, and operating systems, ensuring alignment and compliance with best practices, standards, and guidelines. We also validate implementation using our in-house Accessibility Testing Tool while our IAAP & Deque certified accessibility experts (including people with disabilities), manually inspect and test application mapping against each guideline and assistive technology.
