COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION TRAINING •DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL

This comprehensive two-day course covers all stages of the arbitration process, from the drafting of the arbitration agreement to the enforcement of the arbitral award. This course is taught by the distinguished lecturer at the University of Houston by Ann Ryan Robertson. Training is offered once a year and the course fee is $975.00 (fees include: all course materials and CLE). 14 MCLE credit hours (1 ethics hour) has been requested.. After completion of this training you will receive a certificate in Advanced Arbitration Skills. Payment is due at the time of registration. You may remit by credit card or check. Course Description Details: Preliminary Considerations Bearing on the Selection of the Arbitral Process Comparison of dispute resolution alternatives. Nonbinding processes based upon negotiation contrasted with binding, adjudicative processes: the relative advantages and disadvantages of each. Advantages and disadvantages of transnational litigation as a means of binding, adjudicative dispute resolution. General considerations pertaining to the choice of commercial arbitration as a dispute resolution technique: its advantages and disadvantages. Overview and characteristics of commercial arbitration, including the severability of the arbitration agreement, the concept of party autonomy, the sources of law that can apply to a commercial arbitration and an overview of the commercial arbitral processes. more...
