Education
Latinpractice organizes workshops, seminars, and training courses to enhance skills in electronic design and the use of available tools..

Tools
It provides access to integrated circuit and electronic system design tools, such as computer-aided design (CAD) software, component libraries, and device models.

Events
We believe in equipping your children with the skills to be able to learn for the rest of their lives! By instilling in them a method of analytical thinking, we believe they will be able to be independent thinkers and be high performers in their chosen careers.
Why now?

•As a response to the worldwide semiconductor microelectronics industry challenges in terms of workforce development, EDS chapters in region R9 (Latin America) are promoting a set of activities to motivate faculty and students towards this industry.
•There is growing interest in the region for continued training the future workforce in the semiconductor industry with a new generation of motivated students across multiple universities on the continent.
•R9 can generate qualified talent that can also benefit the semiconductor industry (Synopsys, HCL, Chipus, Intel, GlobalFoundries etc).
•In this proposal we are taking advantage of the recently liberated open-source Google/Skywater 130nm Open PDK that reduces cost and entry barriers allowing us to disseminate information with a new virtual hands-on mindset.
Our goals
•To establish a collection of training events and workshops across Latin America for EDS members
•To create the necessary infrastructure for the development of IC design and access to fabrication of chips in R9
•To design and fabricate a chip that can serve for laboratory practices across the region, where all information is open source.
•To design and fabricate a multi-university research-oriented chip in R9 and to disseminate the usage of commercial tools for microelectronic design.
•Generate pedagogical microelectronic design content in Spanish and Portuguese.
