Summary[]

Leez charges up one of the Sword of Return's transcendentals while muttering about a red and white bird. Maruna barely dodges the first attack, but his arm is nicked by the second attack. He wonders if she was one of the fighters who saw him seven years ago, but decides not to fight back since he still needs the trust of the gods. He then notices that his wound is not regenerating.

When "Shakuntala" tries to convince Gandharva to attack the city, Agni responds by tearing her head off. As she reforms, she begs her "dad" to kill Agni. Instead, he again recalls his daughter's request to not fight Agni.[1] Agni tries to convince him that the monster is not his daughter, as the monster begs him not to abandon her. He again remembers her telling him that he needs to give her up.[2] Regardless, he attacks Agni with a transcendental. As Agni reforms, he tells him that he lost his final chance, summons his sword, fires up his "Dark Agni" transcendental, and states that his penalty for using his transcendentals is to give up Paradise. He regrets not killing Gandharva the very day he learned how.

In another flashback, Agni argues with the other gods—Marut, Chandra, Varuna, and blindfold-wearing Indra—that a genocidal maniac such as Gandharva should die, even if keeping him alive would bring the best possible future. The others do not show any concern over the plight of humans since it has no effect on the universe, and that it would be a nuisance to fight him.

It might be a good idea to read Episode 2-67 before the next episode come out~!

<image: Maruna tries to dodge> a bit startled
Until then, Maruna had his hands in his pockets.

<image> Dark Agni
This is the third time that Fathomless Fire has appeared. In Season 2, he used it once with Gandharva and once with Sagara as well... He didn't use it to its fullest extent back then, only using it to scare them. But now...?

<image: Agni pleads with the other gods> In the past, the situation was reversed.
Now Agni is alone in trying to save Gandharva to achieve the best future. In the past, Agni was the only one trying to kill Gnadharva while the other gods trusted in the best future. Why did their positions switch? You'll find out later!

<image: black sun scene> Wait, is he...?"
His name is the title of the webtoon, but he still hasn't shown up in Season 3!
~He appeared in black and white for a moment, and then disappeared again.~

Notes[]

  • In the flashback with the gods, Indra, who always wears a blindfold, is also reading a book.
  • In this episode, Chandra mentions "the Top". It gets mentioned again in the next episode.
