Last weekend, Jackson School master`s students in the Jackson Latin America and the Caribbean student organization attended the Latin America Conference at @harvardkennedyschool. The students heard from a number of leaders — including Claudia López, former mayor of Bogotá, Colombia, and @yaleworldfellows — who spoke on the conference`s theme, "Harnessing the Potential of Latin American Cities." ...
The Jackson School’s Blue Center for Global Strategic Assessment recently kicked off its semester-long Co-Lectures in the Theory and Practice of Statecraft series with a discussion focused on industrial policy. The lecture was delivered by Jackson School professor Amit Khandelwal and Josh Zoffer, former economic policy advisor and senior advisor at the Department of the Treasury.
The Blue Center’s new lecture series pairs practitioners from government and industry with @Yale professors to deliver joint, hour-long lectures on subjects of mutual expertise. Practitioners discuss events or policy initiatives in which they participated, and academics cover related insights or results generated by their research.

Yale College graduates Yilin Chen ’23 and Sharon Li ’20 have been selected as part of the prestigious 2025-26 Schwarzman Scholars cohort.
Both Sharon (at left) and Yilin (at right) studied global affairs at Yale, and are now dedicated to learning about China and broadening their understanding of global affairs in the upcoming year. Yilin, a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, is focused on green finance and environmental impact, while Sharon, a business manager at Capital One, is committed to advancing social equity and innovation.

Jackson School students and faculty affiliated with the Schmidt Program were in the Bay Area last week, visiting leading frontier tech companies for a series of sessions focused on the implications of AI for global security. With co-sponsorship from the Blue Center, the group visited Anthropic, Google, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, and Palantir Technologies, among others, meeting with company leaders and @yalealumni
Schmidt Program students also visited Skydio headquarters in San Mateo for an interactive discussion on the increasing role of AI in autonomous flight. Faculty and students had an opportunity to test cutting-edge drones themselves.
The group also met with fellow Yalies from @yaleclubsanfrancisco
