It's both actually! It's one centralised AI for everything, which means it can learn pretty easily. We've been more focused on other stuff at the moment though, which is why the AI isn't improving a lot at the moment.

We'll be hard at work in the future to not only make the AI loads better but to also offer an offline version! We understand not everyone likes the idea of the game being online all the time, even if all the information is completely anonymous.

The AI is still learning and improving, so some things it still misunderstands — like thinking you meant "clock" with "block" because block doesn't exist and it thinks it was a typo.

The demo uses the AI mainly for parsing the input, more advanced usages will be utilised in the full game. So stay tuned!

The reason "s" worked is because you can just stop by pressing enter. ;) We're still working on implementing more diverse commands/shortcuts!

After many lovely people requesting and many lovely people helping us test, our alpha is now available on Linux!

Get it here!

In "[I] doesn't exist" AI and old school text-adventure come together, visualized through lovingly crafted pixel art. Solve puzzles in a mystical forest and talk to a cute mushroom until your avatar has had enough. Will you manage to take back control?

like others in the comments, this hit me right in the feels i have towards an old, very close friendship over the internet. it's been years but i still think about them. i hope they're doing well.

thank you for this <3

lulatschia already said everything, but i also wanted to thank you personally! this is so so kind and unbelievable for us <3

That is mighty strange and I am unable to replicate it – I would need to know more about how exactly you've written something, the context etc.

We would be immensely grateful if you could contact us via [email protected] to give us some more insight, if you have the time.

Regardless we will try to figure out what the problem might have been!

Thank you for your feedback, we're glad you liked it! :D

It's strange that "take key" didn't work, I will look into that. As we're using a conversational AI to interpret what the player writes, it shouldn't matter whether you use "log" or "wood" – did "log" not work for you? Or did I misunderstand?

Thanks again for your comment, we're super grateful for all the people who point out things that don't work!

[I] doesn't exist is the alpha release and first act of our upcoming bachelor project. A game about isolation, control and distraction in the form of a modern text-adventure. Discover what lies behind the door and solve puzzles to slowly reveal the truth of this forest.

Check it out here!

Hi Hannah! I think we found the bug that caused your issue and it should be fixed now! If you download the game again you should be able to reach the end now. :)
