Thanks for playing! Yeah the difficulty work needs a tiny bit of work but I'm pretty proud of the game so far!

Thank you! The music is the first-ever (actual) tracks I composed for a game! I'm very proud of it :)

weird how you make the player automatically sign in as a guest
I liked the vfx, but I would like a bit more polish when you die-i sometimes died without understanding why. Also if you dash sometimes you just died instead of killin enemies

The combat was kind of hard at first and then it was just too easy, I could spam parrying. I did not understand the quest system or why there is a "journal". The art is nice but it doesn't fit with the 2d looking ground, maybe you should have given it a bit more love 😅
however it's a nice start

A very polished game, but very, very hard to grasp what is going on! Without a good tutorial or a good page description it took me too long to understand how it works, and even then I didn't really enjoy it a lot :/ It didn't help that even in low graphics settings I got a bit of lag (i have a weak laptop lol).

Rules are rules: the rule was that there should be a working web build. It's equal to everyone.

Thanks for your kind words! I was very much inspired by the simple and fun games Dom makes and decided to make sure I make a game that's easy to grasp and is very replayable!

This will probably be an issue on other games too, so have it in mind!

I can confirm that your score IS on the leaderboard (I opened the game and saw your name at the top). There is this data problem with WebGL and caching that is not something I can fix and messes up a lot of leaderboards. Try to open the game in an incognito tab or empty the recent data from itch.zone

You might want to try to play with a controller too!

You can absorb multiple bullets, actually up to 20. But the idea that if you absorb a lot more you get a super attack is nice! Now about the leaderboards, did you try to clear the data of itch.zone? I think there is some cache trouble with the leaderboards

Yeah like WOW how did they even do that?!

Thanks a lot! The border effects are there to give the retro aesthetic-i think it works well!

Thank you! What in your opinion can I improve on the game feel?

Thank you for playing! I use the new unity input system and I didn't realise that the player moves faster diagonally, I'll look into it.

hm yeah I understand, maybe i could have made the movement a tiny bit faster haha

Thanks! The square enemy was specifically added to make the player move a bit around and also to protect from cheesing the game-you could totally stay in a corner and just get a super high score, so I made that enemy spawn in the corners to make sure no one would stay there too long!

Thanks for your feedback!

  1. you actually cant stay in the corner two long, the second type of enemy (the square one) spawns only in the corners, which means if you stay there too long one will spawn behind you and that will be an instant death lol
  2.  i totally did not think someone would mash the try again button, woops! Must be an easy fix for the after jam. In the meanwhile you can wait a second more 😅
  3.  what do you mean "dynamic movement"?

Thank you!

Thanks! The crashes are... Existing. I could try fixing it after the jam

Yeah probably a unity bug or something I did, the browser page might straight up crash when changing scenes

No, the new one looks good as well. Just curious

Why did you remake the cover?

Thanks for all your feedback! This might be the biggest comment on a game jam I ever gotten lol!
The theme is supposed to be that the bosses get angrier when you something too much, so the consequences of your action.
Smiley hates dashing, if you don't dash he won't progress a phase
Inco works the same but for grazing.
Tbh it isn't my greatest take on a theme haha
Yes! Most of the scores are from players, with a few placeholders (the nice round numbers)

The theme is that the bosses get angrier when you do something they hate-consequences. Crashes do happen lol, blame unity 😂

Yeah sorry, the victory kill is a bug I didn't have time to build a fix

Some of the patterns very much are hard to dodge. Did you use the dash?

Why thanks you! Perhaps I should have said somewhere that you have you survive, not kill the bosses haha

Nice one! Polished and fun

Very polished game but I didn't get it. What is the consequence? It was really, really easy to beat. But at least I made an android beg for its life lol

Lovely game! Nice art, kinda hard (didn't finish it). Great take on the theme. An overall nice entry

Hard game lol, inverted controls suck. Great concept, I beated the game haha. The music was FIRE

Lovely polished game, awesome music, nice take on the theme. But it was HARD.
perhaps some more hp wouldn't hurt haha
btw you should really add a leaderboard if you can in the feature, all score games are better with a leaderboard :)

😺

I've done it before, its an amazing little package for unity that took less than an hour to implement. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for your minds words!
Tbh a tutorial would be great, I half forgot about and half didn't have time lol

Well bugs do happen, I'm fine with a couple of them as long as it's not a bug filled mess haha
Thanks for playing!

Thanks! I see you aren't on the leaderboard, were the bosses too hard? I didn't have all the time to playtest lol

😺

Why thanks you :)
I tried to make a simple bullet hell that like, works, so I'm very happy with the result
