HAHA the attack sound effect was very funny. Impressive procedurally generated world concept! I got a but lost wandering around and I accidentally dropped my wand thing and lost the attack ability at one point lol. WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO GAME ENGINE this is some very impressive stuff woahhhh! I wasn’t quite sure what you “meant by drag item to far right to equip” in the instructions. I love the idea and the technical aspect of the game is awesome. I did get to try out multiplayer by opening in two tabs which was cool! I would love to see where this goes if you ever update! Great work, keep it up!
Thank you very much :)
I am planning on a post jam patch. There are several issues that I know the solution to, as well as unfinished features. When it does get a proper patch I will be sure to announce it on discord :)
We could verify that it's really an online multiplayer game. That's truly impressive !
But there are several bugs like being teleported or having difficulty to equip some arrows.
We don't know how to fill the potions when they're empty. It really can become a great multiplayer game ! 🎃😊
Thank you!
- Some server issues were noticed last minute before submission without time to fix it :(
- Equipping items requires dragging them to the far right of the inventory screen.
- Refilling potions, and even potion crafting was planned, but got scrapped for time restrictions :(
Impressive how much was done and without an engine, no less. I managed to find a few new staff in different buildings. Started with blue, found purple and green. I played alone. Might be worthwhile to try to organize a multiplayer game in Discord if you do it again.
You almost got them all. Only missing the white.
If you ever want to come back and "cheat" for the white one, loot spawns every 6 seconds if there is an empty spot for it ;) so you can just pick up loot and move it out of the huts.
And thank you for playing :) I plan to do a post jam patch, I will definitely announce it in discord when that happens.
Haha, it's so fun that you recorded all the sound effects by yourself. This is a pretty cool game. Not messy at all. I only had a little trouble to equip my new wand. It might be my problem. The map is so amazing! Really nice work!
You are too kind :D equipping the wand is not your problem, it is a bug. You have to drop it at the far right side of the screen, it does not line up with the slot.
Oh, i see. But it's not a big problem. You've done a great job! If you continue to develop this game in the future, I will come back to play it!
Haha this was great - haven't had a chance to try it multiplayer but amazed there even is a mp game in the jam! I didn't find too many enemies to test out my pimpin' new green wand, but the SFX on the spell-casts made me giggle a lot. Nice work!
by playing at all you already tried out the mp. The game is always online ;)
about the enemies part … I cut the amount of enemies down to one quarter minutes before the deadline because I noticed very laggy servers 😅
Fun game, I really liked it, great job!
Thank you :)
Congrats on implementing a multiplayer game so fast! Love the PÉWW sound hahahaha
a multiplayer game in a 3-day game jam? damnn
<3
Please tell me you did the SFX yourself - its amazing and a lot of fun!
The game lagged for me quite bad tho and I needed a bit of time to understand the item and inventory system ^^
Very impressive for a game-jam-game - keep it up :)
All SFX are just mouth noises :D some slightly edited, but definitely not a sound pack :D
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Unfortunately servers lag more the longer they have been online :( I restart it sometimes, but it is never fully fixed. The host I use is very underpowered, not suitable for a game server.
Enjoyable and worked really nice for me. I didn't noticed any major issues. Well done.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)
A multiplayer game for game jam is rare. It's a very difficult project, and you've done a great job. The game successfully launched in my browser, I did not notice any serious visual problems. I'm sure if you had more time, you would have done even better, but I really like the concept and style.
Thank you very much :)
I am planning to release a game late 2025 with this same tech stack... Hopefully I am able to improve it a lot by then :D I reused some code from there to make this even possible to achieve in 3 days
Sheeesh!
As a self-proclaimed programming enjoyer, I'm crazy impressed that you even attempted a project with such technical difficulties in such little time.
Even though the game might need some polishing you have my respect for what you achieved! Keep on going I'm excited for future projects
Thank you very much :) I managed to reuse a bunch of code from another WIP project, otherwise this would have been impossible...
It was still very difficult to pull together something working and a ton of ideas were scrapped in the process. My code is not very flexible, so I had to rewrite a bunch to get basic things working. Some systems built in this jam will be ported over to my more ambitious long term project, and I had fun experimenting on this, so for me it is time well spent.
The SFX are amazing, though the zombies were a bit much lol. My ping might be too high cause there's quite a bit of rubber banding. It is buggy but I can hardly believe you did all this without an engine in 3 days! A functioning online multiplayer game with the best sound effects I've heard this whole game jam. Up there in terms of impressiveness!
Thank you very much :) all SFX were recorded and edited by me
About the rubber banding... Servers are in Europe, but even in EU they can be laggy. On my MacBook I can host a server with 1000 enemies without ny noticeable lag, but Heroku (the host) even struggles with 25 total enemies.
I regret not picking a better host like AWS/Azure, or maybe even adding an option to switch server between different regions. Oh well, now I have something to do post-launch :D
Love the SFX! Will be back to play with friends!
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed :)
What a blast, wish I could pew pew my friends. Excited to see where this concept goes, it'd be a chill game to adventure with buddies
Thought about enabling PVP... It would only be 1 line of code away... But that did not feel very cozy haha. Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!
I LOVE IT but I broke it hehe
Haha :D I don't think the server liked having multiple people online at the same time...
yah haha
