Are you convinced we ever get past the risk associated with Heartbleed? Sure, many MANY sites have Done the Right Thing. But the bug is buried so many places, I'm not convinced the Internet will ever be the same.2014-03-19T14:57:04Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers

Neo900 status. These things take time. Odds for success are long, but could be interesting. http://neo900.org/news-0009-progress-update-marchTobias Diekershoff, Stephen Michael Kellat, Scott Sweeny, sazius and 1 others likes this.

Movim
Lorea
Friendica
RedMatrix
Twister
BuddyCloud
Salut a toi
Jappix

Pls. help me build a list (ideally, annotated?) of the alternative messaging and or social networking systems, members of a set that's disjoint with [Facebook, Twitter, Google+] e.g.:
pumo.io
diasporaPump.io, Diaspora*, GNU Social, Movim, Lorea, Friendica, RedMatrix, Twister, BuddyCloud, Salut a toi, Jappix, Retro Share, Tent, BitMessage...
In addition to No_2nd Troy's list there's also rstat.us.Scott Sweeny at 2014-03-03T20:16:11Z

I have un-followed an interesting source because that person posts so much I seldom see anything else. I wish pump.io had a way so clients could have a category of "semi-follow" where posts do not appear in my stream, but every N posts (ideally N is settable) a post appears that says "xyz has N new posts since Y date. Click here to read that stream."2014-02-28T14:46:30Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers
Have been away. Anything new happening on pump.io and/or identica?2014-01-20T16:50:31Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers
Is there a possible nexus between pump.io federated messaging [or whatever the eff it is...] and a blend of in-browser outlining with wiki-on-the-side? Maybe pump.io could "support" posts formatted using this new thing called Owl? It's rather clever. Also has an Andoid app [still rough] and can use Bittorrent Sync.
https://github.com/interstar/OWL
What if pump.io could serve as a sync mechanism?

Is there a way to share a pump.io post by emailing it to someone? Maybe as a shortened URL as the Twitter provides?I guess yes, I could email the URL. but my thought is, why not make that (email link) an option when using the [share] button?2014-01-04T16:30:54Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers
An interesting and informative article regarding the Drake equation. What is probability humans on planet eartch are alone in the universe? Answer: we do not know. Yet.

I went to pump2tweet and turned off forwarding, at least for now. creating noise on twitter is Not A Good Thing. would like (!) a way to either mark a post to be forwarded, or maybe teh inverse, mark "do not forward this to the Twitter" but maybe that's just me...2014-01-04T14:39:22Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers
Discovering (well, fianlly paying attention to...): http://friendica.com/features
Wondering how it fits in (or not) with pump-a-verse. Any comments? Maybe tehere are TOO MANY attempts to create federated social networks? Meaning critical mass never forms. Or maybe these are early days, allow natural selection to perform its magic? We have a pump.io bridge here at friendica, which means that you can use friendica as a "client" for your pump.io account. That's how I use pump.io, getting the pumps into my network tab at friendica, alongside with all the other things that get into it.
And so far, there are many decentral socnets but only a very few federating once which let you communicate natively with other socnets as well.2014-01-04T14:32:53Z via Identi.ca Web To: Public CC: Followers

Posted using web about 8:04 pm. a comment ona note entered on Puma did NOt [yet] come across.Show all 5 repliesNo, it was a comment on a note. As I understand things, there is a bug where comments on comments do not come through in some combination of clients. [that's a fairly serious bug, no?]2014-01-04T03:59:02Z via Puma To: Public
