2.) Brixology Crafted Cocktails
Opened: February 16

A bit further north is this promising craft cocktail bar from BRIX Wine Cellars. Located in the Vintage Park shopping center, bartenders where are mixing up classic cocktails and stiff drinks. The bar carries a varied selection of spirits with an expansive offering of scotch, bourbon and tequila.

3.) Bodega 1617
Opened: February 16

Previously the Orange Bar, the adjacent space next to Maria Selma Mexican Restaurant has been rebranded into a wine bar. A limited selection of wines to choose from for wine and a menu of tapas including Mexican ceviche and tiraditos.

4.) Kung Fu Tea

With one location in Asiatown's Dun Huang Plaza, the bubble tea chain expands its grips into Montrose offering a variety of teas. Choose from hot and cold tea, coffee drinks and slushes with boba, red bean, herbal jelly and more as add-ins.

5.) Cajun Fuze

Just in time for crawfish season, this Vietnamese-Cajun restaurant serves generous helpings of mudmugs bathed in an assortment of flavors like cilantro lime and Thai basil. Aside from fiery shellfish and other seafood, the northwest Houston eatery offers Vietnamese fare.

6.) Beaucoup Bar & Grill

The second outpost for this creole eatery, this southwest eatery is larger than the original near the Medical Center. On the menu: crawfish bread, po'boys, pasta and housemade bottled juices, which also goes great with a cocktail from the bar.

7.) Table 57 Dining & Drinks

Located inside H-E-B on San Felipe, this full service restaurant offers New American fare with huge dose of Southern thrown in for good measure. Former Haven chef Randy Evan provided consultation on the menu which includes lobster rolls, barbecue, jarred egg, shrimp and grits and more.

8.) Dasman
Opened: February 19

Halal food served from a food truck with a menu that include Mediterranean offerings like shawarama, chicken and rice with hummus and gyros.


9.) Kaung Kaung San Restaurant
Opened: February 20

Adding to Houston's melting pot of cuisines is the city's first Burmese restaurant that also happens to serve sushi. The cuisine fuses Indian, Thai and Chinese. Tea leaf salad, curries, fried bread and mohinga are a few of the offerings available on the menu.

10.) Grafittis at Union St.
Opened: February 25

This new grill off Washington Avenue brings solid burgers and wings to the neighborhood. Burgers are front and center, but the menu also features chicken fried steaks, thick cut bone-in pork chops and variety of milkshakes.
