Getting Nia DaCosta to do any hero movie is a bad use of Nia DaCosta, who seems nice and good and is hopefully going to continue having a career.
Ms. Marvel was a good show and some of that translates. I was glad to have seen it, because it feels required. I have not seen some of the other Marvel shows, and do feel I’m missing some of the pieces here.
Everything is about superpowers that have to do with light, which is objectively pretty boring and lame as powers go. There’s no notable spectacle. Character work is good representation wise but middling in the script.
