Abstract

An annotated transcription of the privy seal warrant for John Cabot's pension of £20 per year, granted in December 1497 by King Henry VII, following Cabot's discovery voyage to North America. The transcription is accompanied by a 2,900-word introduction to the document and a photograph of the manuscript.
