I would do this myself, but I'd prefer to get other people's opinions first: in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (film), we saw a kind of Study Hall scenario going on. This information should be added to this article, but I'm not sure of what to say or what is actually happening - a study session, an assessment under exam conditions as preparations for O.W.L. the following year, or what? -- SaXon 18:51, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
Study Hall would be a good addition (from the films). I would also suggest adding the sleep-over during the search of the castle for Sirius Black - --Sandal Thong (talk) 04:21, October 1, 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, all! The reason why I'm replying to this section instead of creating a separate one, is because what Jack "BtR" Saxon asked is an aspect of what I'd like to discuss. Currently, the article is structured as:
==Description== ==Events== ===Start-of-Term Feast=== ===Hallowe'en feast=== ===Christmas Feast=== ===Duelling Club=== ===Morale Booster=== ===Yule Ball=== ===Apparition Lessons=== ===Ordinary Wizarding Level Examinations=== ===Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests=== ===End-of-Term Feast=== ===The Fountain of Fair Fortune=== ===Battle of Hogwarts=== ===Other===
- and then BTS etc.
- I think there's perhaps other ways to display the above while managing to be slightly more accurate and less misleading. By this, I'm referring to the fact that there's routine occurrences such as the feasts and the exams, then there's notable gatherings that seemed to be one-time-only. I think the later honestly felt more like what regular "history" section would cover, and should be separated as such; Battle of Hogwarts feels so out of place comparing to the others.
- Jack "BtR" Saxon's "study hall" usage was definitely seen more than once in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and can probably be grouped with the lesson and exams. There's also the rare guest speech or presentation and other occasions in HM not yet mentioned in the article. Then there's Memorial feast to Cedric Diggory (I honestly don't think the feast part was the focus) and Memorial ceremony for Rowan Khanna.
- Trying to figure out how to organized the info. I feel like one type (either the routine or one-time occurrences) could benefit from being converted into using tables instead of sections after sections using {{main}} while populating the TOC. Given that countable known events happening in the Great Hall are still missing from the article (Rubeus Hagrid's birthday celebration, Celestial Ball, Teacher Appreciation Celebration,) I think this type may be better for the table option, like how for spells, known usage from individuals are sometimes formatted like that instead of paragraphs.
- Just want to bounce the idea a bit.
- Oh, and Talk:Food at the Great Hall was def. one of the reasons that prompted me to finally raise the question above lol. Even if I wanted to work on covering what the school has to offer for meals, with the current info on the article, imo it'd also look super out of place.
