The Office for House-Elf Relocation was part of the Being Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. The Office was presumably responsible for the allocation and reassignment of house-elves.

Newt Scamander spent two years working in the Office after joining the British Ministry of Magic, and described it as "tedious in the extreme".

Behind the scenes

• Before 1890, Deek, Tobbs and at least other house-elf were relocated by the Ministry after their master died, most likely by this office.
