A kangaroo is a large marsupial from Australia, with the females of the species having pouches to carry their offspring.[1]
History[]
Several kangaroo killings in the 1970s were thought to have been caused by a male Antipodean Opaleye that had been ousted by a dominant female.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- The kangaroo-killing incident caused by Antipodean Opaleyes is mentioned by Rubeus Hagrid in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened to have happened only "a few years back", despite the game being set over thirty years later. It is also possible that the incident that Hagrid mentions is a different one.
