Cressida Blume (b. 1874/1875) was a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century.

Biography

Upon her admittance, she was sorted into Gryffindor. Her fondness for using the Hogwarts Library as her personal arena to practice incantations helped prompt a suggestion to ban magic in the library. She once tried to cast the Banishing Charm on a goblet in the Great Hall which accidentally launched Professor Sharp's Yorkshire pudding into his face. He was not happy about her mishap with the spell.

During the 1890–1891 school year, she met the new fifth-year student and asked them to retrieve some of her books that she had accidentally made fly around the Hogwarts Library, after she had attempted to create a charm to make them lighter, but confused the Latin incantation and made them fly instead.

Personality and traits

Cressida was a very determined individual who didn't give up easily. Even though she struggled to produce spells nonverbally, she kept trying and trying to get it right. She liked to get ahead of her study and tried to learn nonverbal spells in her fifth year.

Behind the scenes

• Cressida is voiced by Georgia Dolenz in Hogwarts Legacy.
• If the player of Hogwarts Legacy chooses Gryffindor house, they can introduce themselves to Cressida in the Gryffindor common room on their first day. She is at a table trying to produce a nonverbal spell unsuccessfully, confused as to why it isn't working. She tells the player they had a splendid, theatrical arrival to the Sorting Ceremony and she will ask if they are Eleazar Fig's protégé. When they reply that they've only studied a few things, she will be disappointed that they can't give her advice on nonverbal spells. However, she could produce it with the incantation and was determined to keep trying.
  • The player can choose to continue talking to Cressida if they want to ask questions about nonverbal spells, to which she will reveal more about herself, including the Yorkshire pudding incident.
