One thing they don’t tell you about getting older is that 1) the conspiracy theories that first coagulated in your youth, sparring a decade of debunking before finally settling into cultural background noise, will after 20ish years be revived wholeheartedly by people who were barely sentient or not even born when the triggering event occurred, and 2) they will add their own weird angle that would not have occurred to anyone at the time

They talk like the WTC were unique for containing asbestos, and that the use of asbestos in itself was conspiratorial. I saw someone on this very website assert the WTC would have been demolished eventually anyway, because, you guessed it, the buildings contained asbestos. I am old enough to have vague memories of when smoking was allowed on airplanes, so this shit is blowing my mind
