Research

Since 2012, CIGH has funded more than 100 early-stage global health research projects. Our approach enables the development of innovative global health solutions, encourages partnerships withcollaborators in low -and middle-income countries, and leverages the different disciplines workingon global health at Stanford.

Programs in Global Health Research

We leverage Stanfordʼs interdisciplinary strengths in engineering, environment, medicine, law, business, social sciences, and health policy to increase global health knowledge, create solutions, and effectively disseminate them. We fund Stanford research teams with global health seed grants, lead trainings on how to conduct global health research, fund post-docs and medical students to conduct research in LMICs, and showcase research through communications and convenings. Global Health Seed Grants

We award seed grants to multidisciplinary teams dedicated to solving global health problems in low-resource settings.

GH Medical Student Research Fellowship

This fellowship supports Stanford medical students in gaining foundational experience in global health research.

Global Health Research Convening

Our annual event brings together students, faculty, staff, and researchers working in global and planetary health from Stanford & beyond.

Global Health Research Methods Workshop

A two-day intensive seminar on developing research skills applicable to global health.

Planetary Health Postdoctoral Fellowship

This fellowship fosters the professional development of early career planetary health researchers and ambassadors.

Global Health Equity Scholars Fellowship

A one-year mentored research training program, funded by NIH/Fogarty, for post-docs, upper-level PhD students and professional school students in LMICs.
