For GSoC 2018, our goal is to have projects that impact users/communities by improving their duties/tasks with technology. We want to provide projects in 1)various development languages, 2) technologies and 3) challenges. Systers is currently creating new processes that will clean up all the GitHub repositories. Any archived repository can still be worked on by "forking" the repo.

Tutorial Materials:

Peace Corps Projects

The Peace Corps has many volunteers (PCVs) out in the field assigned to various countries around the world. Systers will be working on the following Peace Corp projects:

[1] PC Prep Kit (Web)

[2] PC Hub

[3] Photo Language Translation (PLT)

Systers Projects

Systers Community has very specific needs to help them internally and externally with managing events and volunteers.

Systers will also also be upgrading to the latest Systers GNU Mailman and applying our customized Systers features to the latest release. Because we have a customized version, it is a very complex and has a more difficulty level for programmers.

[4] Features for Mailman 3

[5] PowerUp (Android, iOS)

[6] Portal

[7] Volunteer Management System (VMS)

Systers GitHub

Have you noticed that the GitHub repositories aren't all following the same contribution guidelines? 3 Android projects and all have their own coding styles?

We need infrastructure help. We'll pair you into teams based on platform "Android" team, "iOS" team, "Python/Django" team, etc.
