You can install libratbag by either using your distribution's repository or by building it from source. libratbag is packaged for the following distributions:

• Fedora: dnf install libratbag-ratbagd
• Arch: pacman -S libratbag
• Debian (10 and later) and Ubuntu (18.04 and later): apt install ratbagd
• Gentoo and OpenRC: Gentoo package. If using a non-root user, this user must be added to the games group. No further configuration appears to be required if the desktop profile is used and the dbus flag enabled globally. Make sure that dbus is set on run level default or that the service is started. D-Bus
