Inc. is going to teach you how to get started. Vibe coding lets anyone — founder, creative, total non-techie — turn an abstract idea into a real, working app using AI. No coding experience needed. In this episode of Inc. Explains, staff reporter Ben Sherry puts three of the hottest AI coding tools head-to-head: ChatGPT, Claude, and Lovable. He uses the same prompt to build the same game, but with three different platforms. Here is the prompt: “Create a web-based game called Prompt Detective where players see rendered mini-websites and have to drag- and- drop phrase tiles to reconstruct the AI prompt that could have generated it. Include 5 levels with different fake websites (signup form, dashboard, product card, chat UI, pricing table). Some tiles should be red herrings, or distractions that will make the game more difficult.” Ben covers what actually works, what fails (spoiler: ChatGPT crashes mid-build but comes through at the end), and the one step most beginners dangerously skip: security. If you want a simple breakdown, here you go: Step 1: GET CHATTY WITH THE AI Step 2: CHECK THE RESULT Step 3: KEEP TRYING Step 4: CHECK SECURITY Step 5: PUBLISH Now, good luck and get coding!
