Music Adele credits Taylor Swift for elevating NFL game enjoyment, claps back at haters: 'Get a f---ing life!' Sorry 49ers, Adele is rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl 2024: “I think I want the Chiefs to win just because of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.” By Shania Russell Updated on February 11, 2024 02:40PM EST Adele has a message for anyone who rolls their eyes when Taylor Swift attends a football game: “Get a f---ing life!” At a recent performance for her Las Vegas residency, the “Easy on Me” singer defended her pop star peer, ahead of the upcoming Super Bowl, which Swift is rumored to be attending. Adele explained that she hasn’t yet decided if she's fully supporting the Kansas City Chiefs or the San Francisco 49ers. But if there’s anything she knows for sure, it’s that Swift’s appearance is a welcome addition to her game-day experience. “I’m a bit torn, because I kind of want the 49ers to win, but I also want the Chiefs to win,” she told the crowd in a fan-recorded video, before adding, “I think I want the Chiefs to win just because of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.” Adele and Taylor Swift. It’s her f---ing boyfriend!” Since September, Swift’s romance with NFL star Travis Kelce has led to her frequent attendance at Chiefs games. Given Kelce’s public attempts to woo the “Cruel Summer” singer, this certainly didn’t go unnoticed and quickly caught the attention of Swifties and NFL fans alike. A game she attended in October was one of the most-watched Sunday shows of the week. Soon, frequent coverage of Swift led to viewers complaining that she had taken over the broadcast. But many, Adele included, don’t see this as a problem. “It’s actually made it a bit more enjoyable to watch,” she told fans, admitting that when it comes to the sport, she has "no idea what’s going on.” Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Patrick Smith/Getty For their part, Swift and Kelce are certainly aware of the discourse. The Chiefs tight end has been vocal about the NFL "overdoing it," and even participated in a Saturday Night Live sketch poking fun at the NFL's obsession with Swift’s presence. After being named Time’s 2023 Person of the Year, Swift also commented on the overwhelming reaction, admitting that she feels self-conscious of the attention, which she has no control over. “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she said. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.” She added, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.” You can see Adele offer her two-cents on the subject in the video above.
