Accountable Entities Overview The RI Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), through its contracted Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), is in the process of designing and implementing an Accountable Entity (AE) Program for the RI Medicaid Program. The AE Program will provide the framework for transforming the structure of RI Medicaid’s delivery and payment system as envisioned by the Reinventing Medicaid Workgroup that was convened by Governor Raimondo in March 2015. An Accountable Entity (AE) is Medicaid’s version of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in which a provider organization is accountable for quality health care, outcomes and the total cost of care of its population.
