Constantine Samuel Rafinesque-Schmaltz, (22a Oktobro, 1783 – 18a Septembro, 1840) estis tutfakulo de la 19a jarcento kiu faris elstarajn kontribuaĵojn al botaniko, zoologio, la studo de prahistoriaj verkoj en pralingvistiko de Nordameriko kaj de Mezameriko.
Rafinesque estis ekscentra, kaj estis ofte portretita kiel "vaganta genio".[1] Li estis memlernanto kiu elstaris en diversaj fakoj de la sciado, kiel zoologio, botaniko, kiel verkisto kaj poligloto.
