From Ancient Greek αἰωνιολογία (aiōniología, the study of aeons), from αἰώνιος (aiṓnios, eternal, everlasting, endless) from αἰῶν (aiôn, lifetime, lifespan, aeon, epoch) + λόγος (lógos, speech, oration, study). By surface analysis, aeon +‎ -logy.
