[edit]Borrowed from Manchu ᠰᡠᠸᠠᠨ (suwan), from ᠰᡠᠸᠠᠶᠠᠨ (suwayan, “yellow”), in reference to the yellowish appearance of the Shuangyang River flowing in the area.
