[edit]Inherited from Old Gujarati [Term?], from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀳𑁄𑀤𑀺 (hodi), 𑀪𑁄𑀤𑀺 (bhodi), from Sanskrit भवति (bhavati), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *bʰáwHati, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰéwHeti. Cognate with Hindi होना (honā), Marathi होणे (hoṇe). Nepali हुनु (hunu), Punjabi ਹੋਣਾ (hoṇā).
