This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Wikiquote:Welcome, newcomers page.

I am not sure that the "three things you can do" remark is helpful.

With quotations there are a number of different reading modes: browsing, looking for something specific etc. If wikiquote is going to be much better then the structure around these functions has to be very good. BozMo(talk) — the preceding comment was posted at 09:39, 4 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

BULLY AUSTRALIAN ADMINS

[edit]

The totally rude and bullying manner the admins go on with is a disgrace. They must be trying to close wik oz down. They then go and delete posts that try and alert wik that they are carrying on in this manner. They are a total cowardly bullying disgrace and all can just be thankful no one else has to live in their shoes as they only ones stuck with them 24/7 is their own selves. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.54.9.137 (talkcontribs) 09:54, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

I have not heard of an Australian Wikiquote, but if there is one, you should file a complaint with it, not en:Wikiquote. If you instead have a complaint about this Wikiquote, please be specific about what activities you are complaining about. I see no edits from this IP address besides the above post, so I cannot determine what the supposed problem is. You are also welcome to post complaints directly to my talk page. I would also suggest that personal attacks are not likely to help your case, and are against Wikiquote policy. Jeff Q (talk), en:Wikiquote admin, 14:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reword proposal

[edit]

The page currently reads in the lead, "create a user account visit Special:Userlogin," but I think it should say "create a user account, click here!" Newcomers will most likely not know what "Special:Userlogin" means. Thoughts? — RyanCross (talk) 05:41, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect information

[edit]

The page says that anyone can edit the page including user that aren’t logged in, but the page is locked so only autoconfirmed editors can edit it. – Ilovemydoodle (talk | e-mail) 00:12, 3 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
