Deletion

[edit]

Brianna Brown - You stated that this article was deleted because she was not a famous enough actress, yet google has over a half million results for her name, including articles that speak of her as an up-and-coming Hollywood actress. As a matter of fact, she had a relatively major role in tonight's episode of Criminal Minds, playing the part of a serial killer. Could you consider restoring this page please? Emarosa Article deleted and recreation protecting

Hey Mallanox, I see you deleted the article because there wasn't enough context. Well im taking on the task to recreate the article again. Here is my draft: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Chadpriddle/Emarosa I'm trying to get an admin to remove the protection on the page and was wondering if you could help me out. I went through the usual process but cant get any help, so I was told to talk to one of the admins that have previously deleted the page. Let me know if you could do it. Thanks! Are you fucking nuts? Put Alan Cabal's article back. I hate Wikipedia. This idiotic deletionism of useful articles. I am going to go shoot one of the many fucking fictional characters wandering around this junkyard of meaninglessness if Alan Cabal is not restored. I do not have the means of doing this, but was frightened out of my gourd when I noticed that he had become a red link. If you are not totally to blame for this obscenity feel free to disregard some of my venom, direct it at others, but ultimately rectify my grievance. Also, I am not Alan Cabal, but believe he is fucking notable.-Manhattan Samurai (talk) 07:57, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just trying to keep it real and bring a little color to some of the goings-on around here, which seem almost purposedly lifeless at times. Yet, fact remains, Alan Cabal should rise again.-Manhattan Samurai (talk) 18:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I will try to keep civility in mind next time.-Manhattan Samurai (talk) 20:46, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, talk about gross incivility. Anyway, Mallanox, you mentioned that it had been contested at DRV. I can't find the link to the DRV discussion. Can you give it to me? Thanks. --Ave Caesar (talk) 23:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
AfD created...it'll be interesting to see if certain people go ape shit over it. I will admit, a very small part of the decision to do it came from the fact that the user had the gall to tell me, "There will be no further pursuit. If you are looking for something to do..." Oy. --Ave Caesar (talk) 02:05, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize for this tirade from a week ago. What can you do? Occasionally the mind wants to vent but it was uncalled for. Additionally, I have started a deletion review on said article.-Manhattan Samurai (talk) 17:25, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I already apologized. I simply overacted at seeing someone else seemingly being subjected to the same sneaky tactics that were used on me when I first joined wikipeida. I see now that that was not your intention with is why I apologized on the WP:ANI] page and struck through my comments on that other users page. I apologize again for my overreaction and I am sorry that I did not come to you at first int he first place. Smith Jones (talk) 17:55, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article needing to be deleted

[edit]

As with many things in Wikipedia, figuring out just how to nominate an entry to be considered for deletion is taking far longer than I currently have the time for. This would be my first such article, as I have a pretty high tolerance for "notablity." Yet this one fairly screams for it: Party Unity My Ass. For one, that's not the name of the organization (see the reference section). Another, there are virtually no sources for any of the material concerning the make up of these related organizations. RoyBatty42 (talk) 22:58, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the speedy deletion tag. A discography by itself doesn't denote notability. See WP:BAND for guidance. Exxolon (talk) 23:35, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not trying to "cross" you. See that you killed it before. Just putting this in discussion so you know. I think an article is reasonable, given that he's not some fan or something, but has a lot of Analog publications. I will keep the article short (as reasonable compromise on Plante's notability.) Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity

[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
