Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Adam Karamanlis

[edit]

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Adam Karamanlis, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: tone is unencyclopedic but not entirely promotional and there is a plausible assertion of notability. Thank you. arcticocean ■ 21:27, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Page mover permission

[edit]

Hey GPL93, I've noticed that you're leaving redirects behind when you're moving articles to draft space. Upon inspection, it appears as though you've moved 2,820 pages. Would you be interested if I was willing to grant you the page mover permission so that you can move pages to draft space without leaving a redirect behind? It feels like something you could benefit from, and I believe you're demonstrated enough competence that I have no issues granting the perm if you're interested. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:25, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Hey man im josh: Thank you for your offer and your vote of confidence. I'd definitely take on that permission if it would cut down on the workload of admins who have to speedy delete the redirects. Best, GPL93 (talk) 23:12, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a big believer in granting perms to anybody competent who can be trusted with them. You fit the bill in a way that's extremely clear, and any reduction in work for others is a net positive, so I've gone ahead and granted it. Hey man im josh (talk) 23:50, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks! Best, GPL93 (talk) 00:01, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Tip of the month:

  • When creating biographies, don't forget to use Template:DEFAULTSORT.
Accessible from "Wiki markup" at the foot of the page being edited,
it allows categories to be listed under the subject's family name rather than their first or given name.

Moving the needle: (statistics available via Humaniki tool)

  • 24 Mar 2025: 20.070% of biographies on EN-WP are about women (2,057,083, 412,857 women)

Draft:DJ_Sackmann

[edit]

Hi! I'm reaching out because you've been active in WikiProject Basketball. The article Draft:DJ Sackmann was started in November and rejected for not meeting notability guidelines. However, this was before his work as head coach in Unrivaled, and the related coverage. I have since updated the article with more content and citations. The article also has a UPE warning on it, but I made several updates since it was drafted by the original author and think it now has a NPoV. I'll also disclose that while this work is done in my volunteer capacity, I am also on staff at WMF which I hope gives more confidence that this is not a case of paid editing. I would love it if you would be interested in reviewing this anew and see if it's ready to be accepted. Thank you very much! Cbogsin (talk) 20:32, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I mean the sourcing is the same (meaning there's really not much [[{WP:SIGCOV]] on Sackman himself) so no, the subject does not merit an article. Best, GPL93 (talk) 20:58, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

User:Electropunk65/sandbox

[edit]

I've restored this sandbox at author request. I have no disagreement with your tags, but the user would like a chance to source their first creation. Please allow them some time to accumulate some IRS; be helpful if possible so they can understand your role was neutral. Thanks for your eyes, as always.
