Too often, editors lose track of what's important. Wikipedia is here to write an encyclopedia, not essays. There are currently 516 517 essays on the most mundane of subjects, including WikiLove, WikiHate, WikiPeace, WikiLawyering and its partner, WikiCrime, and WikiAtheism (whatever that is). It's WikiNonsense!
Look at what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is a chatroom, a community, a work in progress, being flooded, failing, and is in the real world. Meanwhile, Wikipedia is not Google, a contest a newspaper, a social networking site, a wine guide (NB: I can only imagine what nonsense led to that page being created...), not aniconstic, not failing (wait, didn't I just say it was failing?), not that important, not therapy, may or not be failing (thanks for that enlightening point), and most importantly, Wikipedia is not pie. Thanks a lot, Wikipedia, I was just about to cover my computer with vanilla ice cream and eat a tasty slice of Wikipedia à la mode.
Need more input on how to edit? You need to cite that the sky is blue. Oh, wait, you don't. Don't spit in this guy's soup, or he might get angry. And, in case you weren't up-to-date on your Vatican history, the Pope is Catholic. Unless, of course, he's Alexander Pope, but oh well. How many legs does a horse have? Who cares? The horse should be using all of them to edit articles instead of writing about his legs!
Perhaps worse than the abundance of essays is the Wikipedia Signpost. This "newspaper" and its editors spend much of their time writing about Wikipedia, instead of doing what's important - writing in Wikipedia! It's utter nonsense, and I can't believe people waste their time on this crap instead of writing articles. So folks, just remember to follow our essay "essays are not policy". The essay is binding I tell you!
